Everton will host the second test event at the Everton Stadium in Bramley-Moore Dock on March 23 where the club’s U21s will take on Bolton Wanderers B. This test event, set to host nearly 25,000 fans, will also feature an evacuation procedure which is necessary to obtain the safety licence for the venue that will serve as the club’s home ground from next season.
The new stadium opened its doors to fans for the first time on February 17 as 10,000 lucky Evertonians witnessed the U18s take on Wigan Athletic. The planned test events are necessary for the club to obtain the licence and safety certificates to operate the stadium at its full capacity of 52,888.
Tickets for the second test event have already been sold out. As part of the evacuation procedure, fans will be asked to evacuate the stadium during the second-half and before the full-time whistle is blown.
Spectators will be safely guided out of the stadium and have already been informed not to congregate in groups outside. They will be asked to leave like they would after a match comes to an end and once outside, they can’t return back inside.
The entire process will help emergency services and local authorities plan a large-scale evacuation of the site in case of an emergency. Supporters have been requested to follow the rules to fulfil the purpose of the second test event.
Everton are currently discussing with local transport authorities how to manage the flow of people away from Bramley-Moore Dock. The event will kick off at 2:00 pm local time and those attending the game have been advised to avoid the Kingsway Tunnel which will be fully closed from 7:00 pm onwards. The Queensway Tunnel will remain open as usual.

Same in reverse at the end. No problem, no drama, mate.

I would say it's no worse than it is now, Brian. Currently it's a train to Moorfields, change for a train to Kirkdale, and then walk 15 minutes to Goodison.

I've downloaded my ticket via the Everton App, whether it will work at the turnstile is another question.

Also easy to pass to your mates when you can't attend. I really hope this option will be available.

He asked if he could still do plastic cards, and you can, but they're not keen on dolling them out.

Shouldn't be a problem. walking to the top tier Ian thought they had escalators.
It will be like fucking Newcastle every game. That waiting list will dwindle… they will have to have quite a few defibrillators ready at the top!

Horrendous. never been back since you need an Iron lung to get up them stairs

I didn't find it, a Newcastle mate told me afterwards.
Not to mention needing binoculars to watch the match. Apparently they get away with that for some reason as away supporters should be accommodated with at least part the section close to the pitch.

My ticket came through yesterday evening. I'm in the lower South Stand.

Here's why.
If you don't want to read the lot:
Will I have to use a Digital ticket?
League rules will require clubs to ensure that Season Tickets and all Home and Away Match Tickets by default are made available as digital tickets. Clubs will retain some discretion to make some tickets available in other formats to supporters who have reasonable grounds to request them. This may include supporters who have a disability that makes the purchase or use of digital tickets challenging. Other examples include some group bookings, such as school or Club Community partners.

Ray, when my brother asked, it seemed that a card was possible, but I'm not sure how many they are willing to issue and he thought it came with an additional fee on top of the digital version. He was going to try and get it for me as back up, in event of losing my phone.
It seems the majority of clubs are now encouraging supporters to go digital. I had one at League 2 Bromley the other week. I quite like it.
Bramley Moore related, but aside from the event and practice evacuation, I'm looking forward to seeing the plaza and the Everton Way.
I don't know the plans, but I hope in the not too distant future, the club are considering putting club shop in place and it would be good to have a museum. Not a display like in the club shop at Goodison, but a proper museum. Talking of memorabilia, whatever happened to the Littlewoods clocks? One of them would take a place on the plaza, if they're still kicking around somewhere.
Although we're moving to a brave new future, there's nothing wrong with taking a bit of Goodison history with us.

Digital tickets is the default option. It shouldn't rule out other methods i.e. cards.

I am royally screwed if I forget or misplace my phone. Match tickets, train tickets, rail card, flight tickets when I travel abroad. All on an App!! Online banking; I can do just about everything on the Apps that I can do on a PC or laptop.

I am thinking of emailing the club to suggest running a shuttle service from Goodison. Most people have arrangements for visiting Goodison so they could continue with them and remove the parking problem from the new stadium at Bramley-Moore Dock.
39 Posted 19/03/2025 at 13:46:45
I was told a limited number of cards will be issued on a case-by-case basis towards the end of this season.
40 Posted 19/03/2025 at 16:25:51
Not just the parking issue, but a lot of the pubs and businesses will be looking at how they can entice people to still go to their regular haunts around Goodison. For some, I see it being a transition period before some giving up their traditional matchday rituals.

The club gave a very friendly reply saying that card tickets would be available once all the ticket sales have been completed. We'll see, I guess.

With a physical copy you can pass it to who you like if you can't go.
With a digital one you can only transfer it to another person with an Everton membership or re-sell it through Everton. Again to another member. I don't think it's any coincidence that you have to pay to be a member.
The only way around it is to give your phone to someone as season tickets can only be downloaded onto one phone.
