Season Tickets set to rise

Season Ticket prices at Everton are to rise for the first time in three years but the club will look to build on the success of their child discount scheme with the launch of a new £95 initiative. Adult tickets have gone up by 3% with the most expensive £672 and the cheapest, in the family enclosure, just £399 — and no under-16s will pay more than £199.

"There is no getting away from it, a lot of our adult season ticket holders will see an increase but we believe it is a relatively modest price increase," said CEO Robert Elstone.

"It is managing the pressure of an ever-more competitive Premier League with the need to continue delivering value for money.

"We hope they (fans) understand the reasons we are doing it and hope they look back on previous occasions when prices haven't gone up."

Elstone added on evertontv: "We are tasked with driving our revenues and increasing gate receipts but we can't do that to the detriment of not delivering value for money.

"It stacks up well against our rivals. I still think the prices are good value for money."

Trials of £5 FA Cup tickets for under 11s has seen 18,000 youngsters go through the turnstiles during the club's run to the quarter-finals and the incentive has been extended to a season ticket for Barclays Premier League matches in the 2012-13 campaign.

"We have been absolutely delighted by the response to the £5 FA Cup games — that tells us there is lots of demand for young Evertonians to come to Goodison," added Elstone.
