His CV is so good that he was seen as too good for Spurs and Crystal Palace. I often wonder how Moshiri made his billions as he seems a totally inept businessman and whose judgment on football matters is so suspect.

I have been reading the official site's interview with Moshiri. Does anybody know who the interviewer was? Does he/ she not have any gumption?

Not one question asking the owner why he has split the fan base with Rafa's appointment.

The interview would have been carried out by a club employee or at least by somebody reliant on the club's money, and I'm not even sure the answers came directly from Moshiri himself, it was so scripted it was untrue.

I would LOVE to see a true press conference with our owner.

It will never happen.

Because Moshiri is, in fact, a very smart man who avoids public attention, and the last place he should be (for his own benefit) is in front of a skeptical, aggressively questioning press pool.

He will have learned from his original management at accounting firms like Ernst & Young and Deloitte Touche, and later from his mentor Usmanov, that absolutely nothing good can happen for you at a press conference in an uncontrolled setting.

So quit dreaming, boys and girls. This PR pap is likely the sum total of what we will hear from him.

Moshiri is the Iranian Prince Charles, dumb as fuck and rich by accident of circumstance (pal of Uzi) rather than personal endeavour.

Whatever one thinks of Benitez, he has no leeway whatsoever so the odds are massive that it will go tits up. Moshiri won't know what's hit him when it does.

This is the same man who, along with his big boss, partly wrote an open letter to Arsenal's board, for the benefit of trying to get the fans onside.

Maybe they don't think they need the fans on board at Everton, because it's different when you actually own the club. (Very big mistake!)

Whilst I've learned from what Mike G has just said, I do think that Moshiri or someone in the Everton boardroom has got to speak to the fans soon, explaining in detail the reason behind this divisive appointment, and the real direction they want us to go in, considering the lack of strength and depth in our current squad.

Moshri has totally ignored the opinions of the majority of fans, basicily giving us the twos-up. Total hypocrite after the way he slagged off the so-called Top 6 about getting the fans onside. Obviously he doesn't think we count.

Well, there is one thing he won't be counting and that's my ticket money for the matches and I would urge everyone else to do the same. It's the only way this bigot will take note.

Barry, EFC's problem is that it has "fans" like you. The outcome that you describe is what you want. It gives you a reason to exist?

I agree, but I don't think it will happen. Kenwright won't, already having distanced himself. Moshiri feels he has done enough. Denise and Marcel will only enthuse about his arrival.

We have an Abramovich situation here, with the same links to Putin and all that goes with that. These chaps make Peter Johnson look like Father Christmas.

You mention Putin, Kevin, and without turning it all political, it's a good reference point for the Russian psyche, if we consider Usmanov our owner's backer.

Thick-skinned, don't care what anyone agrees with them and continue doing what they want to do. And, just deny everything if accused of foul play.

Crimea. Remember the pictures of occupying Russian soldiers. Only they had no markings, so the official line from Moscow was "Not us, m'lord. They're not Russian. Nothing to see here".

Weeks later, Crimea annexed by Russia and Putin flies in as the victor having denied it to the entire world.

As you indirectly say, ruthless in their intent and don't really care what anyone thinks of their actions.
