But it's entertaining to watch and will continue to grow. I think our owners have seen the potential hence Goodison and player investment.
On wage parity, I think the players get that from the FA, the difference being bonuses and sponsorship. League wise, it will be a while as it will be based on revenue generated.
Average WSL attendances were down last season. Only Arsenal neared 30,000. I think Everton's at Walton Hall Park struggled to reach 1,000. We've only just had the first £1m pound transfer in the women's game.
It will be a while before the WSL is generating anything like the Premier League in terms of TV revenue and sponsorship, which in turn will reflect salaries.
That isn't being dismissive to the standard, quality and improvement of the women's game, just hard financial reality.

Wiegman will surely get an honorary Damehood now and it will be well deserved.

I just hate the team being called "The Lionesses". I think it sounds patronizing and ridiculous.

I've watched the women in the 5 nations which I enjoyed but the football is not for me. That doesn't make me a dinosaur or a misogynist… to be honest I don't watch the England men's team cos I hate International football.

But I'll bet you they'll be talking about Evertons tour of The States or Liverpools tour of Asia.
You see, in my opinion, in our city you are born into a blue family or a red family and you quickly learn from an early age to love your club with a passion, and you gloat and mock when they get beat, and celebrate when we win.
This will never ever happen to the women's game because, sorry, there's no pull for it.
I'm not apologising here, women's football is absolutely shit but its rammed down our throats by the woke BBC and Sky, so I suppose its going to get the coverage it really doesn't warrant.
I've said on another thread here I know a hell of a lot of Evertonians and I doubt if one of them could name me a player, let along recall a game.
I've got brothers and mates who recall games through the ages, 60s, 70s, 80s etc like they were yesterday.
Women and football doesn't mix.
Sexist? No — just telling the truth.

And then injured the opposite knee.

Danny; I agree the Women's game is littered with poor passes and ball watching but, over the years, with better coaching etc., that should improve.
Over the last decade the biggest single improvement I've noticed is that of the goalkeepers. The two last night were quite good.

One cannot discount the football heart it takes to come back like they did (3 matches in a row, in the knockout). Agyamangnificent!

What she is, is incredibly lucky. When it's time for Moyes to move on, I'd offer her the Everton job in a heat beat!

It's a pity that one of Kevin's comments about women's football didn't get transferred across from a previous thread – in my opinion, he made the perfect summary concerning the current state of the women's game.
Sorry, can't find the thread anymore – possibly deleted.

You're entitled to yor view, like us all.
I don't like watching cricket, golf or darts, but many do.
Who's truth are you talking about though? I'm not sure you speak for many.

A high proportion of Premier League games are dull and shit but they're still sexed up as though it's the Thriller in Manila by Sky etc.
It's the richest league in the world but the football on show isn't much of a spectacle a lot of the time.

The semi-final was also the most watched programme on ITV this year.

Not sure why she wasn't in the squad for this tournament. Maybe she was injured? She was certainly good enough. Lucy Bronze who Mike@10 refers to, what a player, knows the game inside out, a very astute footballer
Wrong sex; otherwise, she'd have stopped all arguments about our right-back position if she played for us!

Pat Nevin. What a very good and technically gifted footballer.
He was different, but unfortunately for him, he had Trevor Stevens boots to fill. A bit like Stuart McCall being labelled the next Peter Reid.
At least Nevin wasn't as infuriating as Peter "beat a player 3 times" Beagrie, whilst everyone in the box was waiting and the momentum was gone.
Back to the women, I hope England enjoy the deserved moment. I think Everton could be onto something here.

I'll introduce you to my cousin Cathy Gore who won the women's FA Cup in 1989. She is tough as shit and soon help you re-evaluate.
