Predictions 2025-26

Hope everyone has a smashing New Year. Here are my predictions for the next 12 months:

  • Dyche remains manager of Everton until the final day of the season 
  • Everton are knocked out of the FA Cup by Peterborough 
  • Everton survive by 1 point in May, finishing 17th
  • Dyche is sacked in the tunnel following the game
  • Everton appoint NCAA coach, Bill Hubermeier coach of PAC 10, The Oregon Ducks soccer team
  • The new season starts badly
  • The Moyes widow/widowers society start a petition to reinstate the Moyesiah
  • Bottom of the table Sunderland appoint Sean Dyche as their manager
  • Winless Sunderland promptly thrash Everton 5-0 at the Everton Stadium
  • Coach Bill gradually turns things around
  • Everton are knocked out of the Carabao Cup in Round 3
  • Everton start the New Year in 14th place
  • Everton  are knocked out of the FA Cup in Round 3
  • The Moyes widow/widower’s society plans a March down Goodison Road
  • Coach Bill brings back Big Dunc and Rooney to help him save the season
  • Sunderland win only their 2nd game of the season, beating Everton 5-0. They end the season on 6 points
  • Everton crawl past the finishing line finishing in 16th place
  • Friedkin sacks Coach and sells the club to Jenny Kenwright.
  • Jenny promptly appoints darling David as the new manager – much to the delight of the Moyes widow/widower’s society

Ah Colin, if only. Oregon has only a women's soccer team. The men's team is just a club program. Just as it was when I played for it. 46 years ago. For 26 minutes.

Mike, Hubermeier is obviously a fictional character, duh.

Sorry guys, I wrote this on either New Year’s Eve or New Year’s Day after having one too many. It’s all a blur now. Just a bit of fun so sorry for the mistakes.

Everton bounce straight back from a season in the Championship at their ne stadium only for PSR to be waiting for them and they start the new season back in the Premier League on –10 points.

First games of the season:

Liverpool
Arsenal
Spurs
Man City

and newly crowned Premier League winners, Nottm Forest.

The accuracy of these predictions started quite badly, the first two dashed in 2 weeks.

It got ever more ludicrous after that, as if Everton would ever reappoint David Moyes.
