Look below the surface

Let me say that I'm completely ambivalent to the man as I have absolutely no idea what his job actually entails, nor can I therefore say he is crap or marvelous. I also suspect that few others really know what the benchmark is to judge a CEO in the football world - Rick Parry?

However what is of far greater concern to me is the timing of such a decision, we can only assume he was pushed as nobody in their right mind would accept a resignation at such a crucial time for a football club. For such a senior person to leave on the eve of a new season, with DK about to be resolved (I hope), with no new signings and a manager who has not committed himself to the club stinks of panic and imminent problems.

Whether people are personally jubilant or not seems somewhat irrelevant to the bigger picture - the second CEO to resign in somewhat strange circumstances is surely indicative of a much more deep rooted and dangerous situation and I believe the hand of BK is far more malignant than people realise. The "I'm only a supporter" is absolute nonsense used to deflect and disarm and present a picture of an affable sort of bloke who just has the (mis)fortune to be in charge.

The bloke is a ruthless tycoon who doesn't have enough money to run the club but is such an arrogant son of a bitch that if he can't then no one else will. To survive and make millions in the celebrity world is not done without a nasty ruthless streak. The "I'm only a supporter" is used when the knife goes in and he needs a fall guy to take the blame for his inability to actually compete at the level that is required.

Was Bully a fall guy? perhaps that's too simplistic an answer but I'll bet a pound to a penny that BK attempts to come up smelling of roses, blaming him for DK, sponsorship, signings and the departure of DM. People like BK are not 'hands off' owners ? read some of the stuff from the acting world about his style of management and influence ? he knew and sanctioned everything significant that goes on but is astute enough to leave a convenient distance between the decision and himself.

I think the club's in turmoil and BK is up a creek and needs someone to blame so he pushes Bully. Watch him come out and say "I'm only a supporter" look forlorn and seek solace from fellow blues for such an awful cad working at the club and leaving us in such a state. It wasn't his fault really as he's "only a supporter" like the rest of us and doesn't understand how these CEO type chaps operate!!

Well Bully might have been useless, alternatively he might just have been the hired assassin who is expendable and whose time has come as BK needs an excuse. The guiding hand is covered in a steel gauntlet and the gauntlet belongs to a ruthless conniving s.o.b. who puts number 1 first and not EFC.

He will no doubt be pulling all his strings with a signing asap to calm the fans down,
It's going to be interesting this shareholders meeting (if he is still around) to see how he digs himself out of his biggest hole ever, all on his ownsome.

Jim, you are quite correct.
The man is a clown and if he had Evertons best interest at heart he would not have (A) signed an exclusivty agreement (B) Allowed that letter from Kilfoyle to be published (C) encouraged not discouraged any potential takeover of the club.
I am quite sure he is an evertonian but that is not good enough when this conflicts with his financial interests.

Totally agree.

He’s like a kid with his trainset but wants somebody else to keep buying the batteries to keep it running.

Just watch out for the peace pipe being offered around before the EGM so he doesnt have to face a vote of no confidence.

Maybe he could employ Doddy as his PR agent to replace Ian "Dead loss" Ross.

So, we can expect legal action from KW for such shabby treatment ?

The fact is that Wyness didn’t do a single thing at this club that wasn’t sanctioned by BK...

Good riddance to fat keith but...its merely a matter of...

..One down, several more to go.

I agree with you which worries me greatly!
I think Wyness was a shite CEO though as he should have done a better job directing the marketing of the club within the City, which is non existent. I imagine that Wyness was given a high degree of executive power by Billy Boy, hence his title

All sounds very mysterious to me.

So Bully didn’t jump he was pushed? and BK isn’t suing him for breach of contract, he is going to sue BK?

It amazes how people can decide that what they are being told is bullshit and make up their own version of the truth and parade it as gospel.

If you don’t believe what the club tell us fine, say it doesn’t sound right and then wait for the truth to come out.

But then again some people don’t want the truth they just want to slag of the people in charge, no matter what.

It was only a matter of time !!! perhaps Cahill might surprise me and become an effective midfield player in a 4 - perhaps not and we can agree to disagree again. At least we both agree on the influence of BK on our club.

Just read KW is trying to settle a pay off, if that the case it would suggest he was pushed as he would’nt be entitled to one if he resigned. Either way hope this situation hasnt left us up shit creek with regards to transfers, the aj deal has taken 3days since it was announced and still isnt concluded and if KW was negotiating on possible incoming transers they are now more than likely donald duckd!!!

I think you’re over-analysing. And to think BK is a ruthless tycoon is hilarious. Bully probably got fed up with the fight over Kirkby, and took the offer of Mallorca and a few years in the sun.

I am becoming more and more concerned about the mental stability of some of the fans posting on this website than the state of the EFC boardroom.

Absolutely everything is a conspiracy to some posters. Go and watch the X-Files film instead of Everton, it needs your "support" more than we do.

I do, however, think that Evertonians deserve a proper explanation as to why KW suddenly departed, rather than "it’s nowt to do with DK". Once we have that we can move on and deal in facts rather than fiction and as fans we can get behind the club instead of constantly sniping.

Peter, I think that a lot of fans are more likely to think everything is a conspiracy because the Club is so well unapproachable. We never seem to get any information and what we do get seems that it is lies. Whether it?s in the delivery of information given to us or that The Board have basically treated us ?Evertonians? like we are fools. The behavior of the Board in regard to DK and numerous other things over the last few seasons has been nothing but disgraceful. I am absolutely over the moon that Big Keith has gone and the sooner that Bill "I?m only a fan" Kenwright has fucked off the better.

Peter

I?m afraid it?s you who lives in a fantasy world if you think we?re ever going to get any "FACTS" out of GP while Kenwright is in charge.

THAT is why so many people are negative on here.

I have never seen an organisation that constantly issues lie after lie.

Just look at the last week.

Wyness - "We have not had any offer for Johnson"

Ian Ross - "The chief executive has not resigned"

add that to our erstwhile chairman?s collection:-

"The £30 million for KD is ringfenced"

"I would not sell Rooney for £50 million"(I suppose there is a grain of truth in that one)

"The cheque will be in the bank in the morning" (Fortress Sports Fund)

"I am looking for investment 24/7" (For 6 years?)

Please dont confuse concern for our club with negativity.

Don’t know about everyone else, but I’m a bit worried about this statement KW is planning to make about his departure.

It could be extremely damaging for the credibility of our club, particularly at a time when we need all the investment and new players we can muster. He could, at a stroke, put us back 5 years.
