Season Ticket Fan Survey about the New Stadium
I have just completed a fan survey about season ticket holder "seat migration" at the new stadium and I am fuming.
I sit in the Top Balcony, with family and friends, above the half-way line and about half-way up. In the map of the new stadium, our corresponding seats will not be available for season ticket holders; in fact all seats in the West Stand between the two18-yard boxes will not be available for season ticket holders – they are going to be reserved for the prawn sandwich brigade. That must be about 10,000 seats – all unavailable for current season ticket holders in the Family Enclosure, the Main Stand and the Top Balcony.
I remember seeing an early version of the layout of the new ground which intimated that there would be a lot of hospitality seats in the area where I normally sit, but I am surprised to see how many season ticket holders will not be able to get seats anywhere near where they sit at the moment.
This is how we are rewarded for putting up with the (mostly) awful football we have witnessed for the last 10 years.

Is it only me and my friends who think this is wrong?

There is some, but not much, hospitality in the East stand, so lots of seats there, but I don't know how the new total standard seat capacity in the East and West stands compares with what currently exists in the Bullens and Goodison Road stands. Without that, it's not clear how many, if any, positions will be displaced.
But none of the new seats will be behind a chuffing pillar!

However, to refer to Gary's question, it is typical of the way supporters are treated when money becomes the be-all and end-all of the decision. People who won't give a stuff about Everton will be treated like royalty whilst those who have given everything get treated like muck. It was ever thus.

Where does your fear come from that cost-cutting will happen on the fixtures and fittings? Has that been suggested?
I haven't heard any rumours about that. I hope you're wrong. 😬
