What Artificial Intelligence thinks of Everton

I’m currently using AI for some fairly complex work topics but during down time I wondered what our Terminator like friends thought of Everton.

Bear in mind AI has no emotions or bias though obviously it’s limited to judging information put forth by humans so it’s not entirely neutral in that sense but should avoid the kind of inbuilt biases you see on ToffeeWeb.

The other thing to consider is, due to the explosion of the internet, more recent events have more data so the likes of Hickson and Lawton have less of an online presence than players like Radzinski et al. Nonetheless, for what it’s worth, this is what AI thinks of Everton:

Best ever players:

Article continues below video content

Dixie Dean
Alan Ball
Southall
Ratcliffe
Latchford

Worst ever (it qualified these by saying relative to expectations):

Kroldrup
Nyarko
Van der Meyde
Sandro Ramirez
Niasse

This is where it went off the rails. Best and worst ever homegrown players. Toffeeweb whipping boys Hibbert, Osman and Davies all got a mention but as THE BEST along with Rooney and Barkley. The Worst was poor old Lundstram followed by Shane Duffy!!

But it got worse. The “worst” ever Chairman was the recently departed Peter Johnson. The best? He could have written the script himself: the slightly less recently departed Kenwright esquire.

Moral of the story is that AI is as much of a biased RS piece of crap as Clive Thomas. So,  for those putting your faith in technology to improve the game, imagine a world where Bill Kenwright and Tom Davies represent Everton’s best, then just be thankful for the good old days of Clattenburg….:

When I saw the title, I thought it was going to be about Carragher.

Thanks, Kieran, that made me laugh. But you'll excuse me, I hope, if I say that perhaps you should get out more.

I avoid artificial intelligence. Also the natural kind.

Mike @ 4;

Everyday in this world it seems easier and easier to avoid finding any shred of 'real intelligence'... especially with VAR.

Present company excepted, obviously!

Just out of interest Kieran, which AI system do you use?

AI is hereby disqualified for omitting Stuart Barlow from the ‘worst' list.

Matt,

Several different ones but I think I got that "intel" from ChatGPT 4.

Kieran, I use Perplexity - purely for work purposes. It's very good at scraping academic research reports, news articles etc. I'm still finding out how it works, but I loaded up a work report I prepared, and it generated a concise summary report in seconds.

I'm using the free version which has more limited functionality, but have to say it saves a lot of time searching for stuff.

It is a long time since Everton and intelligence could be mentioned in the same sentence.
