Transfered nationality very fast did Mr Just Michael😁

Our immigration officials could learn from this speed

Just watched the Portugal v Colombia game - brilliant match which Columbia should have won only for a big toe var intervention!
Rodriguez was very very good even at 35 years old, his vision and passing is just top class.
I was thinking imagine Moyes managing him !

Don't hear a lot of you England fans going on about how the team is playing and your teams chances of lifting the world cup - what you reckon - I'll start, based on what I have seen, they need to start clicking and quickly or they have no chance.

Doh!

Musta been Jonathan David I was thinking about.

I'm not a real fan, Oliver, but seems we might need to beat Mexico followed by Brazil, followed by Argentina, to even get in the Final.

More chance of the Elgin Marbles coming home... no wait a minute.

Canada in the knockout stage, what the hell?

Let's Go, Boys!!! 🇨🇦

That is some stadium they're playing in.

Who owns it?
Neil Tyrrell
8 Posted 28/06/2026 at 20:12:54
LA Rams of the NFL are the main tenant, Paul.

I believe the LA Chargers are also playing there until they find a home.

This stadium will host the swimming pool events at the Olympics in 2 years time.

Both as bad as each other, these two.

Better teams have gone out.
Mark Ryan
11 Posted 28/06/2026 at 20:55:59
Scotland could beat either of these 2 teams.

Dreadful football.
Neil Tyrrell
12 Posted 28/06/2026 at 20:56:42
"Better" teams gone out cos they didn't get enough points, so in what way are they better? Who do you mean, Uruguay? Give me a fucking break.

These 2 teams earned their place and your "better" teams didn't.
Neil Tyrrell
13 Posted 28/06/2026 at 20:58:32
I'll give Scotland somewhat of a pass because they had a tough draw.

But they shit the bed in their one win, should have gone for more goals.
Neil Tyrrell
14 Posted 28/06/2026 at 20:59:24
And Canada would beat Scotland, they're shit.
Mark Ryan
15 Posted 28/06/2026 at 21:02:53
Not a chance, Neil. Awful level of football ability.

Any Premier League would beat either of these teams.
Liam Mogan
16 Posted 28/06/2026 at 21:07:32
Scotland were awful. Like Moyes ball on ketamine
Neil Tyrrell
17 Posted 28/06/2026 at 21:07:53
Any Premier League team would beat Scotland too, what does that have to do with anything? This is an international tournament, not the Premier League.

Canada was the better team first half and are better than Scotland by virtue of having actually progressed from the group stage.

All I can hear is someone in the crowd near the mikes, who must think he's at the Ryder Cup who keeps shouting 'cmon baby, in the hole'
Jeff Armstrong
19 Posted 28/06/2026 at 21:14:49
Turkey and Iran to name 2 who would beat these two in a knockout, but it doesn't matter cos they're already out, which somehow makes them worse than these two...

Not.
Mark Ryan
20 Posted 28/06/2026 at 21:16:09
Canada was the better of the two teams in that first half but neither would beat Scotland.

By the way, I'm English and I don't support Scotland.
Neil Tyrrell
21 Posted 28/06/2026 at 21:20:05
How the fuck was that a foul?
Neil Tyrrell
22 Posted 28/06/2026 at 21:29:18
Liam maybe he's watching Canadian Brooke Henderson on his phone, she's in contention in the women's PGA... 🇨🇦
Jeff Armstrong
23 Posted 28/06/2026 at 21:34:16
Whoever’s got either of these in the round of 16 has basically got a bye to the last 8!
Michael Kenrick
24 Posted 28/06/2026 at 21:39:49
They are not very good... but do these drawn games go straight to penalties?

Or has Infantino come up with some other nutty head-to-head metric, like most throw-ins or goal-kicks?

I don't think I can take another 30 minutes of extra time.
Mark Ryan
25 Posted 28/06/2026 at 21:41:21
Please someone score, anyone, please. I can't bear the idea of extra time watching this. My bed is beckoning me. Even the commentator wants it to end
Jim Bennings

Too bad sides that are vying for a place in the last 16 and no further.

Holland or Morocco await the winner of this, so fair to say Holland or Morocco are in the quarter-finals.
Jeff Armstrong

Extra time and pens, ET will no doubt have a 3 minute “hydration break” in the middle.
Mark Ryan
28 Posted 28/06/2026 at 21:44:07
Commentator adds that both teams constantly giving it away adds to the lack of spectacle. No shit Sherlock
Jeff Armstrong
29 Posted 28/06/2026 at 21:46:06
Jesse March shouting “ cheater cheater cheater” to a SA player who went down easily, in true Ted Lasso style.
Josh Horne

Thank God, it ends.

Paul Hewitt
32 Posted 28/06/2026 at 21:51:07
This is what happens when you have so many teams in a World Cup.

Crap games. Two crap teams… but it makes money.
Mark Ryan
33 Posted 28/06/2026 at 21:51:18
Thank the Lord !!
Christy Ring
34 Posted 28/06/2026 at 21:52:04
Holland/Morocco have a handy last 16 match, shocking game.
Mark Ryan
35 Posted 28/06/2026 at 21:52:24
Morocco or Holland will destroy Canada
Edward Rogers
36 Posted 28/06/2026 at 21:54:50
Never thought I'd see a worse centre forward than Barry, but the South African guy gives him a run for his money. We'll probably sign him!!
Mark Ryan
37 Posted 28/06/2026 at 21:57:12
He's not that bad Edward, lol !!!
Mike Gaynes
38 Posted 28/06/2026 at 22:03:47
That entire match was one long hydration break.
Jim Bennings
39 Posted 28/06/2026 at 22:06:37
South Africa were dreadful, not the SA of the Pienaar era thats obvious.

Canada just about edged it but fuck me, Jesse Marsch is still the same knobhead that he was at Leeds, never forget when Frank Lampard had to shut him down when he was bitching constantly in a draw we had at Leeds
Neil Tyrrell
40 Posted 28/06/2026 at 22:21:22
Brilliant win for Canada who had never won a World Cup match before this year, now in the last 16. Well deserved and a great goal to win it.

So sorry for the anti-Canadians on here, not really, you can all go cry in your Scotland and Turkey shirts and leave the tournament to teams that are actually still playing. Unlike, you know, fucking Scotland and Turkey .

I'd have Jesse Marsch over Moyes any day of the week. Scotland is about Moyes level of expectation and achievement.

Congratulations to our beautiful Canadian boys 🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦

Michael (#24); That's an idea for another thread:

"Infantino's ideas for making the game more exciting"

Like one-handed throw-ins, goalies not allowed out of the 6-yard box or goals scored direct from a kick off counting for double and all sponsored by companies sourced (or sauced?) by Blatter.
Derek Thomas
42 Posted 29/06/2026 at 07:43:34
Jim @ You're right, I wouldn't have Jesse Marsch for a big clock, the arm in the air, watch tapping twat...still, he's clicked with Canada so fairplay to the maple syrup munchers.

Like in the British Open...nods to Cape Verde...Canada will probably win the medal for the highest placed Amateur.

That stadium is amazing, when commentators said the playing surface is 100 feet below ground level, I thought I had misheard, then I saw the you tube video of the construction.
Mind blowing stuff, incredible engineering.
