Juventus reportedly exploring a move for Beto
Juventus have identified Beto as a target to reinforce their attack and are eyeing up a move for the Everton striker in the last few days of the window.
La Gazzetta dello Sport reports that the Guinea-Bissau international has emerged as a last-minute option in their search to sign a striker after talks with Youssef En Nesyri, a player Everton were also interested in, collapsed.
However, a significant gap exists between the two clubs regarding the method of operation. While Everton would prefer to sell the player outright, the Bianconeri are pushing for an initial loan deal with an option to buy, which is the same reason that prompted En Nesyri to turn down their approach. Gazzetta reports that Everton value Beto at €20m.
Despite the differences, apparently intermediaries are actively working to bridge the gap and find solutions for all three parties. It also remains to be seen whether Beto would accept a temporary return to Serie A if both clubs end up reaching an agreement.
The former Udinese striker has been a peripheral figure for David Moyes this season. Following the signing of Thierno Barry, Beto has started only eight league matches and has scored two goals.

But seriously we really do need an upgrade on this fella, we've seen what he's about and, bar a purple patch when he grabbed some goals, he is blatantly not good enough and is unlikely to get any better.

I had held hope that he'd improve given enough time, but it's just not happening for him. He's probably a much better fit for Italy.

Also, do Juve have any second stringers who might be an improvement on positions in which we might want to improve or just need cover???

Failing that, with Branthwaite back, use Keane up top for the last 20 minutes from the bench, he has to be a better option than Beto.

If we sold him for anything to get him off the books, I'd consider it a steal. If Juventus is truly in for him, then I well and truly don't understand football anymore.

Whoever is up there could do with some support and more bodies in the opposition's box when we do get forward.
We did get a couple of goals when Ndiaye came in on the back post but I don't think we see Grealish getting in there.

On Beto, you can see that he is desperate to score and he tries really hard, but our style of play doesn't give him too many opportunities. He might very well do well in Italy. But can we get a decent enough replacement in time?
Forest are lining up a £35M bid for Mateta. Why can't we match that, if we can offload Beto for about £10-15M?

Alan J #5, Juve likely want Beto to replace Vlahovic. Their two starting forwards right now are David and Yildiz.

I'd take Wilson on loan, Zirkiee on loan, McAtee on loan... there's options out there. As always, it will probably be last day or so of the window when the clubs who have players they are letting go have their own squads in order, they feed the crumbs down to those waiting.

Ajay, that would be Igor Jesus who has scored two goals in twenty-two matches (or try one in twenty-one)? Thats the same tally as Beto. Keep the great suggestions coming Ajay. In fact, you might slot in quite nicely into TFGs ace recruiting team.
I do like that Beto listens to Beethoven before training, especially the 9th – the Choral, ‘Ode to Joy etc.
‘Through heaven's magnificent plan / Run your course, brothers / Joyful, like a hero to win / Be embraced, millions!

Unfortunately, we couldnt exit him without a replacement.

Now we have talll, athletic forwards like Beto, Barry, Mateta, Igor Jesus, Gyokeres, Nicholas Jackson, Calvert-Lewin, Marc Guiu, Sesko and Watkins who are not strong technically as players.
Only Haaland, Ekitike and Thiago strike me as natural footballers. Give me a Rooney, Salah or Aguero any day.

Neither can play the isolated target man role that Moyes system calls for. Neither can hold, retain the ball and bring others into play. Barry may learn to do so.
Barry works hard, sometimes to limited effect.
He has some pace, not to burn, but enough to trouble.
His aerial prowess is improving but nowhere near good enough for his height.
He has some skill ( note the finish against Villa). But hes equally clumsy and needs several touches to bring a ball under control.
Goals are coming, confidence gained, some improvement.
Cant say the same of Beto, an honest but very limited footballer. All parties would be better served if he moved to pastures new.

And of course we need a replacement, can't muddle through with only one forward.
