Moyes still fears relegation

Despite moving into the top half of the Premier League, David Moyes has reiterated that getting 40 points is the target and fears that lack of strikers means it will be a tough season for Everton to retain their place in the top flight.

Reaching 40 points remains the priority for Moyes with the lack of striking options after he let Yakubu and Beckford leave the club making it difficult to aim any higher at present.

?We need to get to 40 points like every other team, and then see where we can go from there,? said Moyes.

?I have said many times we are going to have a tough season, it's going to be hard for us, but I'm hoping the experience we have got, the players we've got, will come through and show their quality.

?I am expecting us to push on if we can, but I have always thought this would be a tough season for us. I don't know exactly in what way, but I have always thought this would be a hard season because we know what we have not got, and we know what we would like.

?I think we have got the core of a good team, good defenders, very good goalkeepers, good midfielders, and up and coming young midfielders, as well, but we have known we are just a little bit short up front.

?I don't know what impact that will have over the season, if you've not got somebody who is going to score you 15-20 goals, I don't know yet what the outcome will be if we don't have that.

?That's why I'm still a little bit unsure exactly how it is going to be for us, but I think it will be tough.?
